ATLASLOGY
Gentle alignment for body and mind
The Atlas
The atlas (C1) is the first cervical vertebra and supports the skull. It is directly connected to the occipital condyles via its superior articular surfaces, forming the atlanto-occipital joint. Thus, the atlas plays a central role in head mobility, spinal stability, and the nervous system, forming the transition zone between the skull and cervical spine. The spinal cord and important nerve and vascular structures run in its immediate vicinity, making it crucial for the connection between the brain and body.

Why is the atlas shifting?
An atlas subluxation, or slight displacement of the first cervical vertebra, can be caused by accidents, whiplash injuries, falls, sudden accelerations, or prolonged poor posture. Physical and emotional stress can also affect posture through increased muscle tension and disrupt the balance in the upper cervical spine.
The spine forms the central framework of the body. Numerous muscles, ligaments, tendons, and fascia are connected to it, working together to ensure stability, mobility, and a balanced posture. If this interplay becomes unbalanced, the body often develops compensatory patterns to correct misalignments. These can extend along the entire spine and into the pelvis, affecting body statics. One possible indicator of this is a pelvic tilt, which can be detected, among other methods, through functional leg length testing.
How does Atlaslogy work?
Atlaslogy is a holistic, gentle method that focuses specifically on the atlas vertebra. Based on the understanding that the atlas forms a central interface between the skull, spine, and nervous system, it is considered an important factor influencing overall body posture.
Because the atlas is closely linked to posture and the overall statics of the spine, its position influences compensatory patterns in the body. In practice, it is assumed that tension in the upper cervical spine can affect downstream structures such as the shoulders, pelvis, and spine.
Using a gentle, non-manipulative impulse technique, the atlas vertebra is returned to its individual starting position during an Atlaslogy treatment. The goal is to improve the interplay between the spine, muscles, fascia, and nervous system, and to provide the body with a solid foundation for its natural self-regulation. This allows muscles and tissues to relax, physical blockages to be released, body awareness to be improved, and overall physical and emotional well-being to be enhanced.
Atlaslogy is thus understood as a holistic approach that aims to positively support these connections.

Who is Atlaslogy suitable for?
Atlaslogy is suitable for people of all ages and is understood as a holistic approach to addressing physical ailments. Babies, toddlers, and pregnant women can also be treated.
This is how an Atlaslogy treatment works:
An Atlaslogy session begins with a consultation, includes a gentle correction of the atlas vertebra, and ends with a short rest and integration phase. The process can be divided into six phases.

1. Preparation and information
Before your first treatment, you will receive all the important information about Atlaslogy. This ensures that you are fully informed about the procedure and know what to expect.

4. Adjustment: the atlas correction
The actual treatment now takes place, involving a fine, precise, and gentle correction of the atlas vertebra. Without significant pressure or manipulation, an impulse is applied that allows the vertebra and the body to realign themselves.

2. Arrival and medical history
At the beginning of each treatment, we take time for you. We discuss your symptoms and personal concerns, and exchange information about any accidents, surgeries, and illnesses in the past. This allows me to get a complete picture of your situation.

5. Peace and Integration
After the treatment, there is a period of rest. You will lie in a relaxed supine position for about 20-30 minutes. During this time, the body begins to process and integrate the new alignment, and you can simply relax completely.

3. Physical Analysis
Here we check the body's posture. Leg tests reveal any tension or misalignments. The alignment of the atlas vertebra is then palpated.

6. Follow-up check
Finally, the leg tests are repeated to check how your body has reacted to the treatment. This ensures that the new alignment is firmly integrated and that you feel comfortable.
From the second treatment onwards, the following points can be adjusted:
individual vertebrae
Pressure on the spinal nerves due to misalignments or blockages of individual vertebrae can trigger symptoms such as pain, tingling or numbness in various parts of the body.
Temporomandibular joint
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) influences the entire body via muscle and fascial chains. Misalignments can cause headaches, neck pain, tinnitus, or dizziness, among other things.
Sphenoid (sphenoid bone)
The sphenoid bone is an important junction at the base of the skull and serves as a passageway for blood vessels and nerve pathways. Blockages in this area can be associated with headaches and pressure sensations in the head.
Brain hemispheres
A balanced interplay between the right and left hemispheres of the brain is important for balanced perception, movement and optimal cognitive performance.
Good to know!
Every body reacts individually to the treatment. Often, the effects aren't immediately apparent, but only become noticeable in the days that follow, as tensions release and your body begins to realign itself. This can also lead to an apparent initial worsening of existing or past symptoms, or even a shift in symptoms (e.g., knee pain moving from left to right). However, these should subside after a maximum of three days.
Limits and possibilities of atlasology
Atlaslogy can help the body regain its natural balance. It often has a soothing effect and can help release tension in the body.
Atlaslogy is a preventative and holistic method. It does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment , and no promises of healing are made.
What does that mean in concrete terms?
In certain physical or neurological conditions, Atlaslogy can primarily contribute to relief, reduce tension and improve overall well-being. However, the underlying disease or its cause cannot be treated or cured by Atlaslogy.
